When are you open?
We’re currently open 7 Days a Week - on Monday-Saturday from 11am to 10pm, and on Sundays from 11am-8pm. Closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas.
 
Are you going to have wine tastings?
Absolutely! And then some! Along with wine education, we’ll be providing education in a variety of beers and other products we offer. We’ll also be teaming up with local restaurants in some of these events to add to your enjoyment and education!
 
I’m having a party...can you help me???
We sure can! Just give us a call at 889-0505. Not only do we offer ALL of the party supplies you need - like kegs, jockey boxes, cold cases, mixers, garnishes, themed party favors, etc - but we also offer party planning assistance, bartending, and creative cocktail recipes. These are just some of the great services we offer - and for Members it's free (small fee for non-members)!
 
Can you order a special case for me?
We’d be happy to take any pre-holiday or special order for our Members. Even if we don’t carry a specific item, if we are able to find it for you, we only require you buy at least a case. Nice, huh?

Why did you change the name?
After 26 years as Kohala Spirits, we felt that a fresh name would suit the brand-new look and feel of our store, especially after the major remodel we completed. Then when we heard the sad news that Kauhola Lighthouse would be torn down, we felt it would be nice to honor a local landmark that has special meaning for so many.

How do I become a member?
That’s easy! Just stop by and ask  about each membership level we offer. Choose the level that suits your needs best, read the terms and conditions, fill out the application and POOF! Just like that, you can become a Lighthouse Liquors Member and benefit from the many great services and offers we provide.

How do I set up a delivery?
Once you become a member you’re automatically able to take advantage of our Delivery Service. We can explain the simple process to you once you join. Then, when the urge hits you, just give us a call at 889-0505 with your order and we’ll deliver to your home.
 
What do I get for the monthly fee? (Queen/King Levels only)

  • All Kama'aina Benefits plus:
  • 1 bottle of Special White Wine, 1 bottle of Special Red Wine delivered to home
  • Monthly individual bottle value between $15.00-$20.00
  • Free Delivery with purchases of $50 or more

  • 10% Discount on all non-discounted items

  • All of the above plus:
  • 2 bottles of Special White Wine, 2 bottles of Special Red Wine delivered to home

  • Free Ice for a cooler (Amount of ice based on managers discretion)

  • 15% discount of all non-discounted items
When will I receive my monthly wine?
When you sign up for Membership we will coordinate a schedule that fits your needs.


When will I get billed? 
You will receive a call from our Membership Department each month to confirm your delivery ahead of time. At this point we’ll ask for your verbal authorization for the charge, and only after your approval will we do so.


Can I cancel my membership without any penalties?
Yes, you can cancel or suspend delivery/charges at any time with no fees of any kind. Just call or e-mail the Membership Department before your monthly delivery - it’s that easy.


Can I get delivery anywhere? (Geographic Limits?)
Currently we can deliver ONLY to your home address and you (The Member) must be present to accept and sign for the delivery. The exception: if you have a liquor permit from the police department for a specific event and/or public location in your name (The Member) - we can deliver to that location.


Can I select a specific wine to be delivered for my Queen/King Membership?
We go to great lengths to find that rare gem for you. Each month our experts sample many wines to ensure quality and drinkability, and we use your tasting notes and purchase history to determine which wines you might like. This is part of the fun, and adds to everyone’s learning experience! However, if you like something and want more of it, you can call and add that to your delivery for a discounted charge.


What if I don’t like the wine you send?
As mentioned above, Lighthouse Liquors truly cares about finding quality wines for our members, and we have years of experience as restaurant managers, wine makers, almost-sommeliers, and bartenders to help us in our search for great wines, and we strive to choose the right wine for each member. 

But here’s where YOU can help us out: your feedback on each wine we deliver, at tastings, and other events will teach us about your tastes & preferences, and assist us in making good choices for you. As time goes on, Lighthouse Liquors will be able to make smarter selections about our clients.


Can I pick up my wines for the month at the store? 
Heck yes. Do let us know before we're on our way to deliver it, though.


Are there age requirements for membership?
Yes. As required by law, you must be at least 21 years of age to purchase alcohol from our store, and to be involved in any way with our membership program. We will always qualify any potential customer by asking for identification, as many times as we feel necessary.


Can I get beer or liquor instead of wine as part of my membership?
Beer: yes, we are happy to offer the equivalent amount of beer. There are over a hundred beer options to choose from - locally-brewed and from around the world!

Liquor: yes, but it will be added to you delivery as a separate (discounted) charge. 

 
Can I get all reds/whites?
Yes you can customize your order at any time, up to your set delivery date.


Can I give membership as a gift?
Wow, that’s a great idea! You’re so thoughtful.

Gifts are great. You can of course give your monthly wine away after we deliver it to you, but the Member whose credit card is used for the purchase must be the same person that accepts the delivery.  Exception: a block of pre-paid months may be given as a gift, but the sale is final, and those Membership months must run concurrently. (Clarify - "We must be made aware who the gift/delivery is going to, and will require age qualification" etc?)


Do I have to live here to be a member?
In order to qualify for the FREE Kama’aina membership, a valid Hawaii ID is required. BUT - non-residents may become a Kama’aina lifetime member for a one-time processing fee of $12.99.


I own a vacation rental. Can my guests enjoy the benefits of my membership?
No, the Member must be a Hawaii resident to enjoy Membership Benefits, and be present to accept delivery for their account. However, we are happy to deliver to your rental address with age verification, for a possible delivery charge, depending on location. So leave our card or magnet close to the phone!
